that's how it started...
It was 1994 when this journey began – my first steps were in the graphic design field.
I started as an intern in a cartographic publishing company in Warsaw, Poland my home country. This was where I learned all about QuarkXpress, Photoshop, Illustrator, PostScript, Color Correction and many more applications...
In 1998 I managed to get my feet through the door of the Ogilvy Group Poland as an Art Director. Over 4 years I gained a mass of experience and understanding of the advertising industry and processes involved, until I decided it was time to move further afield.
I moved to the United States in May 2002 and gained a position at a Polish-American community weekly magazine in New York City. This exposed me to the pressures of publishing and magazine craft, working as a Layout Editor and Art Director. This was also where my conversion to the "digital world" began and I quickly became passionate about web design.
Even though I consider New York as The Best City in the world in every sense, I decided to move to Miami. Here I worked for PBS&J Mediagroup an in–house design department, and cracked some serious marketing stuff. I learned a lot about the corporate environment and how to survive it! This experience was invaluable and after 2 1/2 years of hard work amid the beautiful, hot, sunny life of South Florida, my life path brought me back to Europe. I moved to London and the British weather.
I worked for an advertising agency in Soho, the heart of adland. As principle web and digital designer, I worked on a wide range of clients from blue chip companies, to smaller bespoke clients, for almost 3 years.
Now I’ve returned to South Florida and am based in Miami and open for business!
I love working freelance, I’m a great self-learner and soak up new processes like a sponge! But when I have spare time I enjoy life, the best I can.
